Day one: Arrival and transfer to Kampala – 42km.

On arrival at the airport, you will be met by our guide who will then transfer you to your hotel in Kampala for the dinner and over night

Day Two: Kampala – Kibale Forest (450 km approx. 5-6 hours).

After breakfast, you will depart Kampala for Kibale Forest National park arriving in the afternoon.

Kibale Forest is a large protected block of rainforest, which has the highest number of primates in Africa such as Chimpanzees, Grey Cheeked Mangabey, Red Tailed monkey and Red Colobus. In the afternoon, you will go for Chimpanzee tracking in the forest returning in the evening. Seeing the way our “cousins” feed, climb trees, respond to humans, caring for the young ones is a very interesting experience.

Dinner and over night at either Ndali lodge, a stunning location overlooking a dramatic Crater Lake and the fabled “Mountains of the Moon”/ Mantana Tented Camp (High end/luxurious accommodation), Rwenzori View Guest House/Ataco Guest house (Medium class accommodation) or Primate Lodge Kibale Bandas (Low budget/basic accommodation). Full Board.

Day Three: Chimpanzees trekking Kibale Forest National park

After breakfast you will go for chimpanzee tracking. This park has the largest concentration of chimpanzees and other primates in Uganda.  You will return for lunch and then visit the Bigodi wetland swamp. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day Four: Kibale – Queen Elizabeth National Park. (Approx. 3-4 hours drive)

After breakfast you will drive to Queen Elizabeth national park, on arrival you will go for a nature walk in Maramagambo forest for bird watching. In the late afternoon you will go for a game drive. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day Five: Queen Elizabeth.

You will go for an early morning game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast, go to Maramagambo forest for bird watching and then to Kazinga channel for a boat cruise, these areas is blessed with various bird species like the Pelicans, Skimmers, Kingfishers, Thick-knees, Storks, Martins, Swallows, Weavers, Canaries, Kites and many grassland specialties. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day Six: Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast have a morning game drive in the ishasha sector and then proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will have a lunch en-route in Kampala and then proceed to reach Bwindi in the late afternoon. Depending on the time of arrival you will do a community walk. Dinner and overnight at travelers rest camp/ / Buhoma community Banda.

Day Seven: Gorilla Tracking

After breakfast you will transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing by the park guides, before you set off for the trek.  The trek has no fixed duration time as it depends on the last night of where the apes slept from how ever it may be 2-9 hours depending on the movement of the giant primates. The activity is tiresome, it involves walking along steep hilly tracks however encountering these great relatives of man erases all the poor memories/ hardships you went through in trying to find them.  They are awe-inspiring! Dinner and overnight at as above

Day Eight: Bwindi – Lake Mburo National Park. (Approx. 6.5 hours drive).

This morning you will drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Lake Mburo National Park has markedly different fauna to other Parks and reserves, and it’s the best place in the country to see the gigantic eland antelope, as well as Zebra, topi, impala, and several acacia -associated birds. Dinner and over night at the lodge

Day Nine: Lake Mburo – Kampala

After breakfast, have a game drive and then proceed to Kampala having a stop to look at the Equator for souvenirs. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day Ten: Ngamba Island.

After breakfast, you will take a boat from Entebbe pier and then head for Ngamba Island returning at 5 pm. This is an Island that was set up for orphaned chimps.

Day Eleven: Departure

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport and later fly out depending on International flight departure times.
