In Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, gorilla trekking involves guided hikes through the dense forest to track and observe gorilla families. The routes can vary based on the location of the gorilla family you are tracking. Common trekking starting points (sectors) include:

    Buhoma Sector.

Offers treks to Mubare, Habinyanja, and Rushegura gorilla families.

Known for relatively easier treks compared to other sectors.

    Ruhija Sector.

Provides access to the Bitukura and Oruzogo gorilla families.

Trekking here is known for its scenic beauty and relatively moderate difficulty.

    Rushaga Sector.

Home to the Nshongi, Mishaya, and Bweza gorilla families.

Known for challenging treks due to the hilly terrain.

    Nkuringo Sector.

Access to the Nkuringo gorilla family.

Known for its challenging and steep treks, but with breathtaking views.

Ensure you obtain the necessary permits and follow guidelines set by the park authorities to ensure a safe and respectful gorilla trekking experience. Also, the availability of gorilla families and trekking routes may have changed after my last update, so it’s advisable to check with reliable sources for the most current information.
